Frequently asked questions

Can I request additional collections?

If you have generated more waste than normal, you can get in touch with us to arrange an additional collection. If you are regularly generating more waste than your existing collection can cope with, ask about increased capacity or frequencies of collections.

How quickly can you deliver a bin?

Depending on your location in most instances, we can supply new waste containers within one to two working days.

What is my current collection service / what day is my bin emptied?

Please email info@velorecycling.co.uk with your account number and company name, and we will confirm your collection details.

Can I amend my service?

Yes. We always aim to accommodate changes to your service where possible. Please email info@velorecycling.co.uk with your account number, company name, and the details of the changes you would like to make.

Can I have a copy of an invoice or statement?

Please email accounts@velorecycling.co.uk with your account number, company name, and the invoice or statement details, and we will send you a copy.

Do you offer recycling services / can you help with Simpler Recycling legislation?

Yes, we offer a range of recycling services including:

  • Mixed Recycling (paper, cardboard, plastics, cans)
  • Food Waste
  • Glass Bottles
  • Bulk collections of various recyclable materials

Can I arrange an additional collection or bin exchange?

Yes. Please contact us with your account number and company name and let us know the additional service you require: info@velorecycling.co.uk

My collection has been missed – what should I do?

If a collection is missed due to an operational issue, we will usually contact you to advise when it will be completed.

If you have not heard from us, please email info@velorecycling.co.uk with:

  • Your account number
  • Company name
  • The day the collection was missed

Please note that collections may run a few days behind during Bank Holidays.

My bin has been stolen or damaged – what should I do?

Please note:

  • Containers on site are the customer’s responsibility
  • A replacement charge may apply if a bin is lost or damaged

We will arrange a replacement as soon as possible and discuss any applicable charges. We also recommend informing your insurance provider that a container is kept on site.

What waste cannot go in my general waste bin?

General waste collections are usually classed as EWC 20 03 01 – Mixed Municipal Waste. Waste must be non-hazardous, compactable, dry, and lightweight.

Some example of waste types not allowed include:

  • Fluorescent tubes
  • Batteries
  • Tyres
  • Rubble or bricks
  • Large amounts of metal
  • Liquids

What size bins do you provide?

We supply a wide range of bins and containers, including:

  • 240l, 360l, 660l and 1100l wheelie bins
  • 4yd, 8yd, 12yd skips
  • 20yd and 40yd Rollon-off skips
